本州最南端の地「佐多岬」に行く途中にある最後の道の駅で、当然のように沖縄を除く日本本土最南端の道の駅となります。ここを逃すと「佐多岬」まではコンビニ等のお店も無くなるため、お弁当などはこちらで買っていくしかありません。
「佐多岬」の展望台は360度の大パノラマを体験出来る最高の場所なので、こちらの道の駅によったら絶対に行っておきたい場所ですね。人生で1度は見ておきたい景色です。

「本土最南豚カツカレー」は記念に食べておきたい！
コチラの道の駅は売店の売り場よりもレストランの方が広くスペースを取っているため、レストランで食事をしろと言われているようです。
メニューは普通のカレーなどの海の家ちっくなものから、本土最南端に豚カツを掛けた「本土最南豚シリーズ」のメニューが多くラインナップされていました。豚カツ関係はお値段も多少貼ってしまいますが、日本最南端の道の駅なので、大目に見て頼むことにします。
出てきた豚カツはやや薄めなので少しガッカリしましたが、それでも「日本最南端」という達成感というスパイスが美味しく食べさせてくれました。
せっかくここまで来たのだから、最南豚カツを食べて写真をパシャリと撮るのも、良い記念になるのではないかと思います。食べずに家に帰って後々の人生で後悔するぐらいなら、食べておいたほうが良いでしょう！
