道の駅から車で20分程度の場所にある「サンメッセ日南」がオススメです。
1体20トンはあるとも言われるモアイ像をイースター島から持ち帰ってきた、本物のモアイ像は迫力満点です！
どこまでも続く太平洋の海と、圧倒的な迫力を持つモアイ像は写真で見ても迫力抜群なので、インスタ映えに良いで、特に天気の良い日はどこまでも水平線が見渡せて、清々しい気持ちになりました。
園内は綺麗に整備されていて歩きやすいのですが、全体的に傾斜があるため、歩くのに自信がなければカートを利用するのもオススメです。広い園内を自由に散策しましょう♪

車で25分！テレビで有名な「鵜戸神宮」にも行こう！
宮崎ではよくテレビで扱われる「鵜戸神宮」へ車で25分程度で行くことができます。
創建の歴史は不詳なるも、古くからある海洋信仰の聖なる地であり、崇神天皇の御代に主祭神であるヒコナギサタケウガヤフキアエズノミコト(神武天皇の父)をお祀りしたのが嚆矢とされる。旧社格は官幣大社と高く今は別表神社に列せられている。旧社格からも解る通り皇室との繋がりも深いお社です。
「下り宮」が珍しく、境内には南国らしく蘇鉄が自生している。ロケーションが素晴らしく、どこまでも青い太平洋に朱塗りの楼門や階段、社殿がとても美しく映えています。
本殿は約300平米の岩窟の中にあり、また岩窟内には「お乳岩」「撫で兎」等もあり、特に安産に御利益がある。他には海上安全等。境内は明るく開放的。参道は太鼓橋や階段があるため、バリアフリーではないので注意が必要です。
運玉があり(￥100-で5個)を男性は左手、女性は右手で海中にある亀岩に投げ、注連縄の中に当たれば願いが叶うと言われています。海岸参道から行くのが最も近道で歩く距離も少ないですが、駐車場は40台位しかありませんが、祭礼等がない限り満車にはならないでしょう。御朱印は￥500-で頂けます。
